It’s Not Where You Start, But How Far You’ve Come

You have so far to go. You’re constantly thinking about where you want to be next.

The next step.

The next achievement.

The next breakthrough.

You see others achieving what you want to achieve and although you’re happy for them, you’d be lying to say you’re not also envious.

It’s not where you start, but how far you’ve come.

You grew up with little, but you had your siblings.

You were homeschooled and only got your GED.

But you took steps.

You started a business.

You moved across the world.

You worked full-time and put yourself through college and graduated in 3 years.

You earned your Masters degree.

You joined a prestigious firm.

You were promoted early.

You bought a home.

You reached financial stability.

You built a meaningful life with your wife.

Look how far you’ve come - and that was just the last ten years.

Every step was a learning experience. Every step was needed to get you to this point.

It’s okay to want to achieve more. It’s good to have goals. But once in a while, look back at how far you have already come. Reflect on the work that was done. Acknowledge and smile. Give others acknowledgment and recognize how far they have come. We all are trying to go somewhere.
